What?

apparently Ford is issuing a recall on the wiring harness of the 2.0L ecoboost engines. The harnesses were causing erratic behavior such as suddenly losing rpms while at idle.

And you are excited why?
![]() 08/16/2014 at 02:56 |

Because it means that it is a known problem that will be fixed with no cost to me...

Probably because Ford is fixing it before it kills someone, unlike some other big companies.

Right, I dont like taking my ride to the dealership or any other place where somebody drives my car (like valet parking) thats part of why i make the oil changes and stuff. and yes after watching news on the FP about employees using camaros and mustangs and other cars for joyrides... I wouldnt be exited.

I understand that! My car has a few problems related to the engine with injector failure, but Toyota is all like "fuck you, #YOLOSWAG"
So basically, you have to buy some tuning software to fix it. . .

That sucks Prius fumes.

You guys know what you're talkin bout, so this means that Ford > GM and the rest.

I was joking, I really don't favor any manufacturer.

Never had an issue with mine, but it's good they're taking care of business.

It isn't all bad. You get a nice bump in power and the problem is gone.

I've only had it happen a few times, but when it does, it's scary and annoying.

I am! My car is at the dealer right now for it. But they can't do the recall because Ford hasn't released the procedure. :-(

I checked my VIN last night. I am not part of the recall for some reason.

I am. BUT, only if they swap the harness for a new one rather than splicing and replacing the current crimps. Re-crimping with the harness on the car leaves too much to chance... We'll see what the recall procedure actually entails.

The cricket chirp?

Nah, that's just the fuel pump. It is a high pressure one, so it just sort of makes that noise. I am talking about a popping sound. I have never heard it, but it can happen if you bought one of the older Toyobarus.

YES. I AM. As soon as I heard about it I was happy. Only had it happen a few times with the A/C on, but why the hell not get it fixed. When's your build date? Mine is 5/2013, and I checked and it applies to me!
